Jaouda Berries - Morocco

Jaouda is a greenfield development of 270 ha of blueberries, grown for the fresh consumption market, mainly in Europe. It is made up of three separate farms, in Agadir, Kenitra and Immouzer. These are currently planted with seven low- and high-chill varieties from Fall Creek and Planasa, which allows production and marketing over a six-month window. Morocco fits into the supply window between the South American and European production seasons. The investment is underpinned by growing global demand for fresh, healthy and nutritious fruit.

The farms were developed in partnership with Zalar Agri. They are equipped with state-of-the-art drip irrigation systems and precision farming technology. The farm is committed to good environmental and social practices and is GLOBALG.A.P. and SMETA certified.

The investment was completed in 2019 and was managed under the Old Mutual African Agricultural Fund (OMAAF) until 2026. It then became an anchor asset of the Regenerative Capital Fund (ReCa).
